Norwegian artist Liliane Blom's large solo show "Pink a Cherry Blossom Fantasy" is open in Rockville Maryland through January 15th 2016. Christie`s names it as one of five "unique opportunities to immerse yourself in beauty and artistic stimulation."
The artist is receving great reviews on her show. "Located to the northwest of Washington DC and easily accessible from the US capital, the city of Rockville, Maryland, is home to a thriving local art scene. At the epicenter of this is the VisArts gallery. Within, its Kaplan gallery space has currently been transformed by Rockville-based multi-media and installation artist Liliane Blom into “an immersive dreamscape of floating cherry blossoms, sound, video and digital paintings” – a joyfully interactive installation for all ages, with more than a touch of the Land of Oz, " Christie`s says in their review. Peggy Mcewan writes for CultureSpotMC "At first, “Pink – A Cherry Blossom Fantasy” seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, but a few minutes at the installation by Rockville artist Liliane Blom proves otherwise. It is just what a cold weather-weary soul needs."
In the darkest season of the year, Ms. Blom transforms the Kaplan Gallery into an immersive dreamscape of floating cherry blossoms, sound, video and digital paintings.
The exhibition has already started, but there is still time to see her work in person. Tickets are $10 at the door. For more information about the exhibition, check out Visarts homepage.
