Come celebrate a real Norwegian "syttende mai feiring" at the Norwegian Seamen's Church in San Francisco!
The Norwegian Seamen's Church in San Francisco is inviting the public to celebrate Norwegian Constitution Day. For three days in a row, the church will organize various events including a formal celebration May 17, a family picnic May 18 and a church sermon May 19. The program will be as follows:
May 17 at 7:00 p.m.
At 7:00 p.m. on May 17 there will be a formal celebration in the chapel at the Norwegian Seamen's Church in San Francisco. Consul General Sten Arne Rosnes will give a speech and there will be music, entertainment and food.
May 18 at 1:00 p.m.
May 18 the church organizes their annual family picnic at West Fort Miley (north of Cliff House/Ocean Beach). At West Fort Miley there will be a 17th of May parade, songs, games for children and the opportunity to buy hot dogs, ice cream and soda.
May 19 at 11:00 a.m.
Sunday May 19 at 11:00 a.m. there will be a confirmation sermon at the Norwegian Seamen's Church in San Francisco. Coffee and finger food will be served after church services.
