Friday, May 17, all day: Hurra for Syttende Mai in Ballard! Norwegian Constitution Day! The Norwegian Seventeenth of May Committee invites you to join in the festivities. We have children’s games and crafts, live music in Bergen Park, a special luncheon, open house, two cafes, fjord horses to see and touch, and a PARADE!
The featured guests are all Leif Erikson Lodge members, Grand Marshal Professor Bård Berg, of the University of Tromso; Honorary Marshals Past LEL President Randi Aulie; and Bernt Bodal of the American Seafoods Group (ASG)
10am-2pm: Kids games at Nordic Heritage Museum, 3014 NW 67th. Free admission to NHM all day; Nordic Café, food and beverages for sale all day, and fjord horses will be there.
Noon-2pm: Luncheon at Leif Erikson Lodge at 2245 NW 57th in Ballard. Tickets are $30.00; call 1-206-783-1274.
2pm-5pm: Bergen Place Park, 22nd Ave. NW and Market St., has on-going live, free entertainment.
3pm-5pm: Open House and Café at Leif Erikson Lodge, 2245 NW 57th St. in Ballard, from 3-5:00pm. Food, beverages, wine, beer available for purchase. Local Scandinavian organizations will have promotional material about their groups available.
6-8pm – PARADE!! We are pleased to announce an extended parade route again this year! The parade starts at NW 62nd and 24th NW, goes south to Market Street, east to Bergen Place Park, turns down 22nd Ave NW, and continues south on Ballard Ave. NW, all the way to Dock Street!
