Join leading US and Norwegian renewable energy experts for in-depth presentations
and discussions on topics including wind, solar, biomass, and hydrogen. With oil prices reaching
new highs, learn from the experts on exciting developments in the renewable energy fields
and what the future will hold as we develop these resources.
Representatives from Norsk Hydro, Europe's leading oil and gas producer, will join the
University of Minnesota's Initiative for Renewable Energy and the Environment, along with
panelists representing Xcel Energy and the U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable
Energy Labs in discussing the future of renewable energy.
Dick Hemmingsen, Executive Director U of M, Initiative for Renewable Energy and the
Environment, will moderate a morning panel discussion that will include the following
energy experts:
- Ed Fletcher, Professor Emeritus, Mechanical Engineering, IT
- Lanny Schmidt, Regents Professor, Chemical Engineering & Materials Science (IT)
- Dag Øvrebø, Technical Director, Norsk Hydro Technology Ventures
- Frank Novachek, Xcel Energy
- George Sverdrup, National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).
The luncheon keynote speaker will be Dag Øvrebø, Technical Director, Norsk Hydro, who will speak on The Future of Renewable Energy and Hydrogen.
