Nordic-Themed Drama Classes in New York City

Give your child an exciting experience; exploring the rich Scandinavian pageant of ancient gods, Vikings, witches, gnomes, trolls and fairies, through drama, role-playing and arts & crafts.

7/19/2007 :: The Nordic world has some exceptional children’s books, and the wealthy folklore of Tufte-Folk, inspire children’s imagination, while opening their minds to a new culture. These fantasy worlds will be brought alive, by creating their probable exterior through the use of simple props, textiles, costumes, puppets and music, to increase the children’s inborn creativity, while acting out the parts of the different residents. Every class will be a new adventure in The Land of the Unseen surrounding us.

Malin Tybåhl, is originally from Sweden and has extensive experience in teaching drama & theater equally for children of all age groups and adults, both in Sweden and New York. She has taught: art programs, workshops, in public schools & VTC programs, at museums, business corporations and the YMCA. She has a BA in Drama Communication, is a Certified Theater Pedagogue, and is also an actress and graduate of the prestigious Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theater, who is known for graduates like: Robert Duvall, Gregory Peck, Sydney Pollack, Eli Wallach, Grace Kelly, David Mamet, Diane Keaton, Dylan McDermott and many, many more. She has also ventured upon the path of becoming a Reiki Master, of an ancient Tibetan hands on healing technique. Before leaving Sweden seven years ago, Malin was one of the founders of Theater KomandiVa, a theater company composed of “acting theater pedagogues”, who mix the art of theater & performance art with drama exercises. They traveled across Sweden with interactive theater performances and workshops in Theater of the Oppressed, a theater form developed by Augustu Boal. She remains a member of the still very successful, expanding theater company, hoping to achieve a cultural exchange in the arts eventually.
