The art of Scandinavia is wonderful and magical, based as it is on myth, legend, tradition, and poetry. Nordic art today, and the Norwegian, Swedish, and Finnish art of the past, are all strongly connected to their own folk art, and also to that stunning northern landscape that has so influenced the people in their everyday lives. On Thursday April 10 at the Swedish Cultural Center, The Gage Academy’s Margaret Davidson will present a slideshow and presentation which will show you examples of this wonderful work, from the folk art, through 19th century painting and into the contemporary work.
