Norwegian For Toddlers

In Minneapolis, children are never too young to learn Norwegian. Norwegian kindergardens, or “barnehager,” are offered to kids between 0 and 7 years old.

10/1/2007 :: It all started last year; the first Norwegian class for youngsters under seven was established. Now, a year later, a total of five different classes are offered to children between 0 to 7 years old.

The intention of having Norwegian kindergardens is to teach the children about Norwegian culture. This is done through the use of music, dance, creative dramatics, crafts, games, stories and food.

Most classes are during the week-days, but there is also one Saturday class for children who are attending school the rest of the week.
