7/7/2004 :: This is a collection of some sixty impressions in varying degrees of completion by European masters from the fifteenth to the early twentieth century. Four variant impressions of Madonna by the Norwegian Symbolist Edvard Munch (1863 – 1944) are on view. These large and powerful prints are among Munch's most enigmatic interpretations of the femme fatale, the ubiquitous fin-de-siècle that was so central to his art.
