Ibsen’s Ghosts haunt New York City again!
4/23/2008 :: Henrik Ibsen is one of the most popular playwrights in history, and “Ghosts” (“Gjengangere”) is one of his most popular plays, so no wonder why NYC is presented with this spring’s second theatre production of the play. “Ghosts” caused furor when it was first performed in 1882, because of its frank treatment of taboo subjects. Dark, raw and humorous, “Ghosts” examines family life, impossible love and ruthless ambition, and speaks to the world today as much as it did when it shone a blinding light on the 19th century world.
This production at the Schapiro Theatre is directed by Henning Hegland and features actors Erin Gorski, James MacBean, Chuck McMahon, Edelen McWilliams and Peter Schmitz
