Tisch’s facilities comprise one of the most modern and complete physical plants of any school of performing and media arts in the nation. Facilities include 60 editing rooms, 25 film and video screening rooms, sound-mixing studios, one of the largest soundstages in the East, numerous photograpy darkrooms and laboratories, and six sprung-floor dance studios.

Beyond the classrooms and studios of Tisch are the cultural and artistic resources of New York City. In addition to coursework, internships can give you the most hands-on exposure to the most exciting work done in the industry as you work side by side with established professionals in film, television, radio, theater, photography and dance.


DEPARTMENTS AND PROGRAMS
Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Program
Undergraduates are provided with a variety of creative experiences in the conceptual and production phases, and intensive course work is offered in directing, producing, writing and acting, as well as in the craft and technical skills of film editing, video post-production and sound mixing.

Master of Fine Arts (MFA) Program
Graduate students develop their creative talent through actual production experience and learn about business procedures used in the profession. The program culminates with a production of a thesis fil in the form of a dramatic short or documentary.

The Graduate Department of Film and Television offers intensive professional education in filmmaking. The three year program focuses on pre-production, production, post-production, writing, aesthetics and the entertainment business. 


TUITION AND FEES
Tuition Fees for the 2002-2003 academic year is as follows:
Fall 2002 $13,925
Spring 2003 $13,925

Additional expenses that may be applicable to graduate studies include University mandatory health insurance fees.

All Graduate Film (Production) students must pay laboratory and equipment insurance fees of $420 per semester. On average, additional costs have been estimated as follows:

$750 - $1,500 for the first year
$4,000 - $8,000 for the second year
$10,000 and up for the third year (thesis Film)


ADMISSION AND THE APPLICATION PROCESS
For the Graduate School, appropriate undergraduate credentials are required.

Students with foreign credentials are expected to have completed or to be in the process of completing a degree equivalent to a US Bachelor’s degree.

In order to be considered for admission all candidates need to submit:
*Application
*A $50.00 application fee
*All undergraduate transcripts
*A 2-3 page Personal Statement
*A professional/artistic resume
*Three letters of recommendation
*Cinema Studies is the only Tisch Program that requires the GRE
