Education Coordinator

The Coordinator of International Education at the Norwegian Consulate General in New York works to promote student mobility and educational links between Norway and North-America.

The Coordinator's main functions are information gathering and dissemination – ensuring that Norwegian students can get correct and updated information, whether they wish to study in North-America, are currently attending a university here, or are returning to Norway. The FAQ list of topics includes:
- general university information
- financing of studies
- evaluation of Norwegian education
- recognition of foreign credentials in Norway
- student visa, optional practical training and working in the US or Canada

To do this, the Coordinator's tasks include:
- visiting universities in the US and Canada to inform admission offices and international student office about Norwegian higher education and the admission of Norwegian students.
- working closely with organizations and institutions in Norway and North-America, such as ANSA, the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund (Lånekassen), Fulbright, the American-Scandinavian Foundation, AACU, NORTANA, SIU and the other Norwegian foreign missions in the US and Canada.
- participating in seminars and meetings focusing on international student mobility.

If you have any questions regarding student mobility, exchange programs, potential culture shock, or just education in general, please send an e-mail to cg.newyork@mfa.no.
