Join Will Steger at the Explorer's Club in New York tonight, as he gives an eye witness account on the challenges of Climate Change drawing on perspectives from a life dedicated to exploring the Polar regions and beyond.
While many tout the threat of global warming, few possess the distinct vantage point of Steger, who is fast becoming a major source of public inspiration in the campaign to solve global warming.
This presentation comes on the eve of Steger's upcoming 60-day, 1,400-mile dogsled expedition to the high Arctic that commences in March and will capture rare firsthand footage of the disintegrating Ayles Ice Shelf (a feat that hasn't been accomplished since the early 1900s).
Steger, a 2007 recipient of The Explorers Club Lowell Thomas Award and National Geographic Adventure's Second Annual Lifetime Achievement Award, will also be available to answer questions about his upcoming expedition and will be joined by two expedition team members:
Sam Branson: adventurer, author, musician and son of Virgin mogul Richard Branson
Sigrid Ekran: Norwegian dog sledding sensation who was the "Rookie of the Year" and top female competitor of the 2007 Iditarod
This event will also feature special guest, Norwegian Ambassador to the United States, Mr. Wegger Chr. Strommen. The Norwegian Embassy is a key sponsor of Steger's upcoming expedition.
