In early March Consul General Lasse Seim visited Alabama and Governor Robert Riley.
3/13/2008 :: Alabama Governor Robert Riley received early March Consul General Lasse Seim for productive talks about business promotion between Norway and Alabama. The Governor was accompanied by Director of Alabama Development Office, Neal Wade and Director of International Trade Office, Hilda C. Lockhart; while INTSOK adviser John Hurter and the Honorary Consul of Norway in Mobile, Les Stuart, accompanied the Consul General. While in Montgomery, the Norwegian delegation also met with Commissioner for Conservation and Natural Resources, Barnett Lawly, assisted by State Lands Director James H. Griggs and Natural Resources Manager William H. Brantley.
In Mobile the Norwegian delegation met with the CEO of Alabama State Port Authority, James K. Lyons, and with Head of the Department of Marine Sciences at the University of South Alabama, Dr. Robert L. Shipp. They also visited Aker Kværner's production facility in Mobile (sub sea umbilicals); the office of the Honorary Consul and the Norwegian cemetery in Mobile.
