Nora is the adored wife of Torvald Helmer, and honorable man of high moral ideals and passionately devoted to his wife and children. However, Nora's pampered life transforms unexpectedly when she secretly forges her father's signature on a loan to save Torvald from a debt. Following her husband's rage over her transgression, Nora discovers that her marriage is a lie and she is nothing but a doll, a plaything, a nonentity. This modern translation is the winner of the 1997 Tony Award for best revival.
