The International Summer School in Oslo is one of the top schools where you can learn Norwegian through intensive lessons. The school also offers several classes on Norwegian culture, history, literature, international relations, political science and art history in English, and this year the school will offer classes focusing on Ibsen's works.
3/14/2006 :: This year there will be a special Ibsen-course offered at the school because of the centennial celebration of Ibsen's death. This course was designated for Norwegian teachers abroad, and it is being taught in Norwegian. Therefore, this is a great opportunity to mark the year-long celebration of Henrik Ibsen's life and his work as well as learning Norwegian in the capital of Norway. This Ibsen course is also supported by the Norwegian Foreign Ministry, which means that there are several stipends available for the applicants.
If you are interested in this course or the stipends that are offered, please contact Torild Homstad at St. Olaf College in Minnesota at homstad@stolaf.edu or call 1-800-639-0058.
