The Norwegian, New York based painter Anki King exhibits "Remembrance" at Something Unexpected Art Gallery in Nyack, NY.

Gardar Eide Einarson at Whitney Biennial
The Norwegian artist is one of 81 artists selected for the biennial. As the Whitney Biennal puts it, his work has a "stylish punk sheen that evokes rebellion through its cold, hard-edged rejection of sentiment."

Roundtrip to America
Norwegian culture has influenced the US culture; and the vice versa. Roundtrip to America is curated by Greta Lafayette and the Norwegian Immigration Association Exhibit Committee and is currently on display at Heritage Hall in New York.

Nordic Shorts: New Short Films from Norway
Scandinavia House presents the Nordic Shorts series, a wide-ranging survey spanning many styles and genres that introduces some of the finest new shorts by the next generation of Nordic filmmakers.

Eivind Opsvik releases new CD
Eivind Opsvik releases his new jazz CD, "Overseas III" at Zebulon in Williamsburg. Håkon Kornstad's Single Engine will do a solo performance as the opening set at 9pm. Then, Overseas will play two sets starting at 10pm.

Datarock on U.S. tour
Datarock set out on an extensive U.S. tour this summer, partly together with Ladytron. They'll hit New York's Terminal 5 on June 25.

Bjørn Solli at Scandinavia House
Solli was voted "young Norwegian jazz musician of the year" in Norway in 2002 and has since won numerous awards throughout Europe, including soloist prizes in Belgium, Monaco, and Spain; audience prizes in Switzerland and Spain; and a composition prize in France. Catch him at Scandinavia House!

Jostein Guldbrandsen at Scandinavia House
Join in at the Summer Jazz at Scandinavia House when Jostein Guldbrandsen plays electric, acoustic nylon string, and fretless guitar. Guldbrandsen recently released his first CD as a band leader, “Twelve,” on Fresh Sound New Talent.

Norwegian Language Course
