Clinton to Støre: Climate for Arctic Research Cooperation

6/24/2009 :: The U.S. Department of State hosted the U.S.-Norway consultative meeting on science and technology cooperation on May 29, 2009, a dialogue referred to by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in her letter to Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre in February. NSF hosted a delegation visit to research sites in Alaska, opening new perspectives for science and technology cooperation in the north. + More

T-Rex of the sea discovered in Norway: Documentary on History Channel

3/25/2009 :: New scientific research reveals that Predator X, fossils of which was excavated on the Arctic archipelago of Svalbard, Norway, was approximately 50ft long, weighed in at 45 tons and packed an amazing 33,000lb bite. Dubbed 'Predator X', the marine reptile is a new species of pliosaur, an apex predator that patrolled the Jurassic oceans 147 million years ago. + More
