As of January 1, 2004 the new state owned company Innovation Norway has replaced the following four organizations: the Norwegian Tourist Board, the Norwegian Trade Council, the Norwegian Industrial and Regional Development Fund, SND and the Government Consultative Office for Inventors, SVO.
7/5/2006 :: Innovation Norway promotes nationwide industrial development profitable to both the business economy and Norway's national economy, and helps release the potential of different districts and regions by contributing towards innovation, internationalization and promotion.
Innovation Norway in San Francisco is currently engaged in the following main areas: information technology, innovation and entrepreneurship, and energy. The office is staffed by Special Advisors assigned to specific focal areas on behalf of business and government in Norway. These advisors serve two roles: as managers of business development projects on behalf of individual firms and organizations contracting spearately with the office, and as directors of joint programs for multiple businesses and organizations.
