Unite for Children is about more than providing emergency aid. The common denominator of all efforts is to help children survive and thrive, to provide them with a strong framework and life skills, and to give them joy and quality of life.

9/19/2007 :: UNICEF Norway wants to use sports as a change agent – and has invited Right To Play and the Norwegian Olympic Committee and Confederation of Sports as strategic partners in its work.

Right To Play
Right To Play is an international humanitarian organization dedicated to creating a healthier world for children through sport and play, operating projects in more than 20 countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.  The organization’s specially designed sport and play programs aim to improve health, build life skills, and foster peace for children and communities affected by war, poverty and disease.  Right To Play was established in 2000 as an extension of the Olympic Aid movement and is led by four-time Olympic Gold Medalist Johan Olav Koss.  60 Norwegian athletes are Right To Play Athlete Ambassadors, serving as strong role models promoting the importance of play and sports in everyday life.  In March, 2006, Right To Play opened its first USA office in New York City.  www.righttoplay.com

Norwegian Olympic Committee and Confederation of Sports (NIF)
Apart from being a national overarching organization for both elite and mass sports in Norway, NIF has operated in developing countries since the 1980s.  The international development work is to a great extent done through “Kicking AIDS Out”, an international network of sports organizations using sports as a tool to strengthen children’s and young people’s self confidence and ability to master their everyday lives and provide them with knowledge about HIV/AIDS.
